The following rules have been approved by the Rocky Mountain Division Board for the 2005 season.

The rules and regulations for the Spec Miata class shall be as defined by the 2005 GCR.
To supplement those rules, on a Rocky Mountain Division Basis only, the following shall
apply:
1.0 Any and all issues requiring a unilateral decision amongst the Spec Miata drivers
shall be put to vote. The issue shall be managed by the Driver’s Advisory Board.
1.1 All votes shall be decided based on a “Simple Majority Vote” of the received
votes. The Driver’s Advisory Board will assure every reasonable effort is made
to provide drivers with notification of each issue via the message board, email,
mail, or in person at the track. They will also be responsible for assembling the
results and announcing the decision.
2.0 Tire brands and models, allowed to be used in any Rocky Mountain Division
sanctioned event, must be chosen from the following list (sizes to remain as
defined by the GCR):
a. Toyo RA1
b. Hankook Ventus (excludes new Pro Series Version)
c. Falken Azenis
3.0 When running independently of all other classes (separate run group), the Spec
Miata's will run two qualifying sessions in lieu of a practice session and a
qualifying sessions. Starting positions for the first qualifying session will be
designated by lottery performed prior to that session (conducted by the members
of the Driver’s Advisory Board). Positions for the second qualifying session will
be based on the results of first qualifying session with fastest time starting first,
second fastest second, and subsequent positions in descending order for the
remainder of the field. Participating in one or both sessions is optional to the
driver's although starting positions for the second session, for drivers not
participating in the first session, will be on a first come first serve basis starting
behind the first session qualifiers. The fastest times from both sessions
combined will dictate starting positions for the race.
Note, drivers are strongly encouraged to have back-up timing alternatives, in the
form of in-car lap timers or manual timers in the timing shack, for first run
qualifying sessions. This can serve as a back-up should timing and scoring not
collect times for one or more cars during that session. Driver’s also must take
the initiative to confirm transponders are on and working for early qualifying runs.
3.1 When accompanied by another class, the format will revert back to practice and
qualifying as done in the past. Should the partnering class wish to run under the
double qualifying rules of the Spec Miata, then approval must be granted by the
Operating Steward for that particular race day. In such case, a track side lottery
will be held for 1st session starting qualifying positions.
4.0 Championship, Novice, and Rookie Points Series shall be as defined in the
Rocky Mountain Division Supplement 2 as derived and delivered by the 2005
Spec Miata Driver’s Advisory Board.
5.0 The Spec Miata group will not participate in any type of motor claim rule for the
2005 season.
