Congrats to Malcom Finch on his first national win and I think his 2nd SCCA race. Thanks Malcom for choosing Gilfus Racing for your power!
It was a good clean race weekend with no bent up sheet metal that I saw.

After qualifying on Sunday it seemed they pulled all the 99s into the tech shed to check computers- I assume by plugging in a code reader. I saw a few parked in the holding area afterward. Anyone have any insight as to what happened?
I was kind of hoping something would turn up when they checked mine to explain why I was so slow [Smile]

I believe they were only checking for a functioning OBDII port.

I have no firsthand knowledge, but I heard one car's OBDII port did not function resulting in DQ for qualification.

Thanks Gale. It was a good weekend for me. If only I could repeat it for the rest of the season. If only I could fly without wings.

Malcolm did an exceptional job on both days and in particular on Sunday. 19 years old, 4 races and a National win. Awesome. I wish I could have had something for him but he was simply too fast. Sigh.

I was glad for the position but sorry to see Matt make a minor mistake and get stuck in the sticky stuff. He was incredibly smooth and fast all weekend. I wanna grow up and drive like that.

Sunday my buddy James tried a move on me and, well, kinda missed it and ended up in the dirt. LOL. He was feeling his oats today and sent me a text saying thats the last time I will beat him. Pretty cocky for a guy with dirt all over his car. [Smile]

Now that I have had a couple days to bang my head against a wall, I would like to give some thanks!

I need to thank Chris Campbell and Eddie Williams from Prodigy Motorsports for providing me with such a great car. No set up issues whatsoever this weekend. I must also appologize to them for 2 DNFs in a row. They work extremely hard to make sure I have the best car possible.

Thanks to Bob Thorton and Race Engineering for a stellar engine. This weekend proved that the engine makes good power and will be a front runner at the runoffs. I believe I got the track record on sunday the lap before I spun as well. Also, thanks to Carbotech brakes for slowing that car down!

Congrats to Malccom and both Craigs for podium finishes. Very impressed with Malcoms maturity behind the wheel. Good seeing everyone again and I can't wait until TMS! Like I said the car is great! Just need to work on the clown behind the wheel.

ps. we need a sideshow "Instant Graemlin"

I was kind of hoping something would turn up when they checked mine to explain why I was so slow

There were two cars that wouldn't communicate with the OBD reader after qualifying, mine and the #48. They gave us an hour to fix it, and thus the delay in posting the results (Sorry about that). He got his working by replacing a fuse in the dome light slot. In spite of a lot if effort and help from a lot of really nice people (thank you), mine wouldn't read and I was DQ'd. I was allowed to race (Thanks again) from the back but was relegated to DFL since it still wouldn't read after the race. At least they gave me credit for a race finish. Heck of a result for my first SCCA National race, but leaves plenty of room for improvement for next time.

...I'll have the OBD port working [yep]
