I'm really hoping to avoid installing a head or running the motor in at the track, but I appreciate the offer...I'll let you know.

Why start out behind... by the time you get the NB built, the NC will be the car to have in SM. Get ahead of the curve now!

No need for Smack Talk in Texas...them boys use the fenders to do there talking!
Back in the day when SM was a "real mans" class wasn't much mouthing, what with people like Dirt Surfer, Tim the Terror, Mad Merv, Krazy Karl and the Mad Canuck, a guy was just happy to escape with part of his machine unscathed. SRX7 and SM got along like a joint A&M / UT pep rally. Even the girls in SM could get rough.....Alison came within a curly you know what of whipping the biggest SRX7 racer there was. After race paddock discussions were very much a spectator sport. Of course 114 was a top car, and the biggest grey arrea was bent headlight covers.
AH the good ol days. [thumbsup]

Almost every time Mac makes a post, I think I need an interpreter or Rosetta Stone or something. Maybe itís a Golf thing but I just donít get it. Lets see if I got this correct:
Krazy Karl = Karl Zimmerman
Mad Merv = Merv Stauffer (havenít seen him around in years)
Tim the Terror = Tim Evans?
Dirt Surfer = ? the nick name really does not narrow the selection down very much
Mad Canuck = some guy from Canada? Didnít realize we allowed them in the borders
Light Heavy = Blake Clements

Maybe a cross reference table in the FAQ can be built.

Feel free to fly it proud or have a sticker made for your windshield. The Tennessee State Flag [Smile]

Jim

 -

The Tennessee State Flag

The Tennessee State Flag was designed by a fellow named LeRoy Reeves of the Third Regiment, Tennessee Infantry. It was officially adopted by the Tennessee State Legislature on April 17, 1905.

The geometric design sybolizes the geographical and cultural heritage of the state of Tennessee while echoing the colors of the national flag of The United States of America. The color white symbolizes purity. The blue sybolizes the love that Tennesseans feel for their state and the red sybolizes, that in times of war and peace, Tennesseans are true-blooded Americans.

Mr. Reeves explained his design:

The three stars are of pure white, representing the three grand divisions of the state. They are bound together by the endless circle of the blue field, the symbol being three bound together in one - an indissoluble trinity. The large field is crimson. The final blue bar relieves the sameness of the crimson field and prevents the flag from showing too much crimson when hanging limp. The white edgings contrast more strongly the other colors

The "three grand divisions of the state." that Mr. Reeves refers to are the three sharply contrasting geographical divisions of the state of Tennessee.

East Tennessee is defined by the Great Smoky Mountains, the Cumberland Plateau and the narrow valleys and forested hills. Farming was restricted by this landscape and two of the states most industrialized cities are in East Tennessee; Chattanooga and Knoxville.

Middle Tennessee is known for its rolling landscape; bluegrass country. Defined by the circuitous path of the Tennessee River, Middle Tennessee is ideal for raising livestock and dairy farming and is known for its fine horses and mules.

West Tennessee is where most of the state's cotton is grown. Between the Tennessee and Mississippi Rivers, this is rich river-bottom land.

Let me get this staight, I built the NA 1.6 because it was suppose to be cheaper, then I start the NB because it is really the cheaper of the two and I can make weight, now you are telling my I am behind the curve again.

So what am I suppose to do with my NA and NB project, take them lemons racing so they can be properly disposed of.

Dirt Surfer Bob still shows up now and then. The Mad Canuck was actully Jim "The "Fur Trapper" McKay who was one of the original racernetwork bunch. Red headed with an occasional red mist moment to match. Was a pretty good shoe when he kept it together (He had to be as the two of us won one of the early day SM ECRs against some good talent at RAtlanta......in fact he may have been Senna like that day.) Now Dirt Surfer kept you on your toes back then as he would rile the entire SRX7 field and their payback could be served to any miata. Hey he was just racing and just because a little dirt was flying doesn't mean you can't still pass a car or three! I don't recall anyone getting hurt, but besides the "Big One" at TWS, and the "Flip" at MSR there were always some wild moves being used in an effort to protect turf or make that one in a million pass. There was very little pre race smack but plenty of post race cussing. Sort of like Blake when he talks to Drago.
Famous words spoken on the tow home by Keith from back in that time..."The weekend was good, I only need to replace ONE door this time!"
That first season Shannon made it through the whole season in pretty good shape. But he was fixing the other three cars in the stable after nearly every race...a bump here a new nose there.
Comes to the last race and..........the "Big One"!

Great racing with everyone this weekend. Thanks to Race Engineering and Carbotech brakes for two solid components needed at this dragstrip of a track. Chris Campbell and Eddie Williams from Prodigy Motorsports did a great job of set up on the car early saturday which helped during the later sessions.

Kudos to James York for reeling me in on Saturday. He was putting down fast consistent laps, which allowed him to close the gap I originally had. All I could do was watch the car in the mirror get bigger and put down inconsistent laps. James went for the pass in Nascar 1,2 but ran wide and upset the car. I stayed to the inside in the braking zone of 3 and was able to hold the lead into the infield. Then it was a drag race to the finish line with a margin of victory at .099 seconds. Incredible finish for sure.

Matt,

Good job. You had the car in every session and drove smartly. Fast, fast driver... you earned the double win.

Wish I would have been there again on Sunday, but something on the car went south and I was down on horsepower and couldn't keep pace with you and Aaron. I was lucky I started with enough of a gap to 4th or else I would have been passed by Scott for third.

Good seeing everyone again, great racing with Matt and Aaron. Thanks.

Great race weekend, except for too much hard work on Saturday, after qual!
Matt was fast, James showed pretty strong and almost got there. Matt must of tossed a banana peel out in turn one the lap before!
Congrats to Aaron, and his teammate, Scott for good showing also. There were great battles including John Phillips and Crispen Beaver, Scott and Craig Berry, and more.
Cheers

Hey Ceasar
That was me that bumped you at the start of Saturday's race. Hope you don't mind, the flag was out and it looked like you car would go faster with a little push from behind.
Thanks for opening the inside lane through T1.
