Thought I would let you all know that the on-line registration is now open for our Double National here in Phoenix. The weather has been absolutely beautiful and should be somewhere in the 70's if there are no fronts moving through. [Cool]
There will be a full day to practice for those of you not to familiar with PIR. We should have a pretty good field of miata's this year. [group hug]

Mike, I think we should be able to field a pretty good group....I can count just from the locals that we should have between 11-13 that should sign up.

My bad...on the on-line registration it shows only a 1/2 day of practice, probably (2) thirty minute sessions would be my guess.

dean,
as i read the saturday schedule it looks like there will be (2) 55 minute sessions for practice for closed wheeled cars before noon. that is what will cost the $125 if i remember corectly.
if you dont pay for the practice sessions, there will be (1) session for us ( group 5) after lunch that is available . i think that one is either 20 minutes, or 1/2 hour.

I will also be attending this event.
Josh

Thirteen cars signed up already with thirty days to go....need to get the rest of the Arizona guys to sign-up.
Anyone know the maximum amount of cars they will allow in a race group at PIR...?
I wonder if there are any out-of-state racers that would come over if we were given our own race group.

Brian, I just purchased the AIM Pista with Video. All my other videos are on 8mm. I will also check with some of the other racers to see what we can come up with.
It's a 1.6 mile stadium course where Nascar runs on the oval. Some turns on the infield you need to know but other than that, you should be able to pick up pretty quick.

Anything showing the (right) line around the infield would be great - SM or otherwise.

brian,
here is an old video racing in my spec 944 at phoenix international raceway.
I wont claim its the "right" line, but its what works for me in that car.

OK racers...it appears that the SM Group will have it's own dedicated run group. 15 registered to date with more to come I'm sure.
We will do everything we can to lobby for an early run group on Monday to get everyone on the road early.

Looking forward to meeting you Rob. Remember, you can pre-register online and pay at the track if you come. You would then guarantee yourself a position in the race and your car number.

PIR will close for major renovations after the February NASCAR event to the next NASCAR event in November which will include repaving of the track & construction of many garages in the infield. Not knowing what/if the infield road course will be after renovation, this may be your chance to say you drove the original road course at PIR. Zoom, zoom, zoom
