At Todd Buras' suggestion, I'm putting up this note as a "sticky" thread, to hold all our SM lap records (both SCCA and Conference). Add a note below, or drop me a PM, and I'll add the records to this list.
I do intend to leave a history of lap records in place, so send in all past known records as well as current ones.
SCCA RECORDS
Portland International Raceway, NO Chicane

Portland International Raceway, WITH Chicane

Pacific Raceways, through 2004

OK Jim, I did some research and came up with these records. ICSCC keeps track of qualifying and race lap records, so use what you need. If anyone has different records, let Jim know. I only went back to 2004, these should be the most current.

Very cool, Chris -- thanks! I think SCCA only tracks race times, but I could be mistaken. We'll see how it shakes out before I try to consolidate the numbers.

I'll wish you luck putting your initials on the records, Jonny! I looked for the OR web records when I first posted this note, but I couldn't find them anymore either.

i think the reason some people were pulling fast times at the portland pro race was because you could bump draft, where as the regional races you cant bump draft at all.

I didn't see or take part in any bump drafting there. I was unsure of how common it was with this group (this was my first race with them)so I was waiting for someone else to start it, and no one ever did. I placed 4 of 13 and ran with a tight group the whole race.
The last SCCA race there, more than one front bumper got melted....

You "Cant" or your not supposed to?
It still seams to happen even though it's not supposed to..

I think Gary popped a couple of 123:2? in the Conference qualifying sessions last weekend, and that is with no one around him to draft with. Nice to see the doctors left the fast part intact!
