No turbo, just letting us put in a ram air package.

No ram air or turbo, unfortunately.

Heat shielding clarifications. There was a thread late last year about what the "open" air filter and intake allowed for in the way of heat shields/insulation. Jason vowed to clarify one way or the other - to either allow it but restrict it or expressly disallow it.

I believe we've ended up allowing it, but clearly restricting it to not allow big heat shields that protect the AFM.

This one was personal for me, as I believe that allowing ANY air filter or intake tube means that heat protection should be allowed to be integrated in to those parts. It's so easy to do for a couple dollars, too.

Cheers,

Dean

Jason,
What about tires? The rules you just released say "Toyo Proxes R888 tires must be used." Is this going to stand like this, or will it be back to RA-1's?

I would also suggest showing the 4.30 gear as an option (as shown in section 13.1.2) for the '94~'97 in the Appendix A specification table.

Thanks for all of your time and effort in updating our rules!

The tire rule for sm is that ra-1's are back but you can use r888's for the first three events on any region's calendar in order to use them up. After the third event you just use ra1's

i thought I had that in there but apparently not. Thanks for the catch

one more... as written it appears to me that the 4.30 is required for the 94-97 cars. is there a grandfather period for the 4.10 cars?

..never mind - as nganeer said, 13.1.2 says, "94-97 models may update to the 4.30:1 rear axle ratio' reading > adam

What are the hp/torque rules for SSM, and where can we get them checked in the Mid-Atlantic?

Thanks,
