Breaking News from Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs!

Midwestern Council and North Suburban Sports Car Club will be back at Road America in 2010!

It was announced at the Board of Directors meeting last week that we lost the date at Road America to another club that out bid us for the weekend. I was informed late this afternoon that the club backed out on their offer and Midwestern Council was offered the weekend. Naturally we jumped at the opportunity. So, mark your calendars for August 14/15, 2010 and lets go RACING!

Thank you,
Chuck Cassaro

Would make for good testing for the RunOffs with a good group.

Dave:
I think that the part of the story that is not being told is that Road America is tell Council that starting in 2010 there will be no more amateur races at their track.
They consider SCCA National's to be Pro Race, which should be a big suprise to all of us that have been told over the years that in a Spec Class we have a chance against the front runners with sponsorship, but it is a big slap in the face to all of us Club Racers that have help to make the track what it is through our racing entry support, worker support and fan support over the years.
It sounds to me that RA is taking a page out of the US Congress plan and telling all of us that have supported it to go to hell unless you have big bucks to pay them.
They appear to be more interested in paying fans than Racers.
Maybe they have been purchsed by one of the NASCAR companies and it didn't make the news.
