Anyone using the Ultra Shield road race halo seat? If so, how does it fit in the car? Would you buy again?

I am adding this Safer Seat update

to my UltraSheild / Kirkey aluminum seat. It looks pretty robust.

I had a 16" in my car and will buy again when I build another car. I loved it.

I have run an Ultrashield for several years now. Below is the 16" Ultrashield Road Race Halo installed in my car, some tunnel modification was required to get the seat centered to the steering column.

I've got the 15" in mine....love it! Very comfortable...a step up from the Kirkey I had in my old car.

A few questions about this seat,

How much was the tunnel reworked and can you take some pictures of that?

Second, which model number is that seat and is it a 10 or 20 degree?

Thanks, George

I like my 14.5 Ultra Shield road race halo seat a lot and would get it again if I needed a new seat. This is the 3rd seat I've owned and this one is a keeper. A 3 lbs hammer made all the extra room I need on the trans tunnel.

A 16" Ultrashield doesn't take a lot of work. This was for the USRP (non-halo)...

If you cut that front seat mount off and mount it on the floor it will take more [Smash]

I have the USRP 15" in my car, fit without much trouble at all.

I will say that Willie The Tards Kirkey is MUCH more comfy than mine.

I've been re-installing my interior this week and doing all the safetly work (head nets, belts, heat shielding, fire system, rollbar padding). The top of my USRRHalo seat can be twisted a fair amount. Given that the center net wraps around my seat from the driver's side main hoop, I'm slightly concerned that the seat may have some issues should the net exibit forces on the seat in a crazy wreck.
