Hasn't DC been doing a spring school in March for decades? Squeeze it in? Sorry Mike but did I miss the point? Going to a double was finacially motivated and necessary in these tough times.

In fact it was in the early fall of 2008 when we gave up the fall single school date for 2009 and scheduled the 2010 spring double school.

But wasn't the date set for the 27th/28th? and then the dates with the NJ school switched which was set to be first on the 21nd/22nd at the last moment? I noticed that the registration site still listed the old dates up until last week. Good luck to all of the folks running the school this weekend, my old SSM car will be there although it is now painted a different color. It should not be that hard to pick out though, he left the "MARRS race winner" sticker on the rear window. [Wink]

Yes the WDCR School dates were moved. That was prompted by the tracks need to re-pave. It changed from the week after the NJMP school to the week before. We notified NJ-SCCA as soon as we were notified.

Mike first of all, NO not doubles. I believe the original date for the MARRS school was set for after the NJ school and then changed to the week before. Last year they were back to back. I obviously know what the motivation was, however, "my point"..I just think both divisions could have worked together for the benefit of BOTH, as last year. Now there are 20 students in NJ and 75 in DC. What is going to happen in the future? Will both regions run doubles, each trying to squeeze it in before the other? IMHO there was/is a better more SCCA friendly way to accomplish the same goal between 2 divisions and tracks that are so close; to get more people involved. I guess it is now my 4 cents instead of 2.

Mike8s

Do you think that the DC Region changed their date just so their school could take potential participants from the NJ Region?

While I am sure no one out east does this but I do know in Midiv the regions have been fighting over the schools for years or trying to get the first national of the year or we want a double national, its all crap. Not gonna get into all the details but you would think you got a bunch of high school girls bickering over the same shit every year.Problem is the same regions have been pulling crap year after year and could care less about any of the other regions. Its sad and laughable all at the same time.Communication, working together and thinking outside the box never come in to play with some of these people.

Good luck

Like Mike Collins said THE TRACK has to repave some very bad spots and needs a three week window for cure time, so it actually stays together for more than a couple races. So the track moved the date, not DC region, if I understand it right. DCR was not trying to "steal" NJ students at all. The date change was due to the need for track maitenance. Right Collins?

Well, maybe next year the MARRS folk will return to their normal date and NJRRS can have a double event the week before, and they can share the idea of the double school every other year. Win - Win.

Okay, glad to know I'm not the only one who thought he was crazy.

My first visit to the NER website in February showed the dates as NNJR this weekend and WDCR as the following.

Revisited each of the individual region's websites and suddenly I'm reconsidering my sanity!

Thanks to Mike for explaining the reason for the switch and thanks to ctkellett for clarifying the whole date swap.

Now, if only I could have made the DC double I might have received my own "MARRS race winner" sticker. [Razz]

See you guys at NJMP on the 26h!
Brandon
