latest paddock report;
the 'Krugerrand' fella was just spotted doing a Zulu bushman's rain dance ...
right behind him was Henry Van V a/k/a chipster, both of them dressed in lily whites ...
my hero 'Von C' don't care about no stinkin rain, no clothes, no nothing, "lets just git it on", probably hangin at the local bar right about now.

Would you expect anything else? Out of 63 cars there are only 6 1.6s and only 1 that is even remotely competitive on any given day. I think a more logical conclusion is that people with 99s have more money to blow and can afford to go to the runoffs.
As usual, your logic escapes me.

whoa there kemosabe;
they are still in full 'mind games' mode until 11:30 AM tomorrow ...
then there is the race to run,
then they get to see who wore what shade of gray.
Actual mechanical compliance protests per se are considered bad form at the RunOffs, the post race tech inspection sheets have already been written by the Stewards, that soap opera starts at 12:15 PM.
We will all be tuned in ... good luck to all.

Mike - here you go

here is DDG with the magical Rich/Lean switch to cure the dreaded 99's rich AFM over 6,000 RPM [Wink]

But wait till you see the radiator sized rear muffler ground effects blown rear diffuser. Red Bull and Adrian Newey have nothing on this guy.

I just talked to Von C and he was getting his game face on at the bar. It's a good thing the race isn't first thing in the morning or many of the Florida boys would be MIA.

Oh OK! Since you cannot figure out what I was saying I will try to make it more obvious; if I can. Any driver in the top 10 could wheel a good 1.6 close to where they are now. Thats not to say they could win against an well prepared 99 at RA but they can be competitive. Just saying that there is only 1, 1.6 in the top 30 does not tell the whole story. I hope that makes it clearer for you. Also I was not claiming that 99s are not the car to have or that the cars are even equal only that when no one shows up with a 1.6 the probability is that you won't see many in the top 10, 20, 40, or 60. As someone else said, those that can build any car build a 99.

I agree with you but,if the 1.6 is competitive there sure would be alot more of them in the field.Yes the 1.6's can run the times to be up front for a couple of laps but after that game over.The main thing are the tires,they can't handle that kind of abuse for the hole race,car yes tires no!

That's one of the reasons I didn't come this year,not that I could have won but would like to know a top ten finish could be possible in my car.

There are plenty of guy's their that have both 99's and a 1.6 and what did they choose,the 99 and why?

I guess I'm one of those hornet's [Big Grin]

Nobody with a choice and strong desire to win (aka $'s) brought or built a 1.6L for this event.

Undeniable social proof.

Last year they put the race out "on demand" about a week or so later.

Perhaps they will again this year.

Nobody fly through Chicago for about 45 minutes please, as I have a race to watch.

Thanks for your understanding.

His error seemed to imply he was using Mozilla....
