With all the bull shit going on I don't want us to forget how great this community is!

Drago, Ryan and all that are involved, don't let my bitching skew the admiration I have!

Lets go social, your favorite, most inspiring, most influential, most revered or most cherished SM related pic. You can post the wife and kids on the hood but that is common to us all.

NO YOUTUBE BULL SHIT, don't F with me!

Being a pilot, here is mine (love the sponsor too)!!

The box you post the message in, on the left, UBB Code explains it, but basicly have your photo online in a public site i.e photobucket. and add [IMG] the site [/IMG]

Displaying Images
To add a graphic within your message, just enclose the URL to the image as shown in the following example.
[IMG] http://www.infopop.com/artwork/footer_logotype.gif [/IMG]
In the example above, the UBBCode™ automatically makes the image visible in your message. Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the [IMG] code.

Some forums may disable [IMG] tag support to prevent objectionable images from being viewed.

As someone from the outside looking in, you guys have a good thing going. Don't blow it. Deep full fields nationwide and while the cost has gone up a bit over the last few years, it's still a pretty good value in road racing.

For the last couple of years I've been running the local NASCAR series in an entry level street stock. They can change anything at anytime. There is no vote and they don't have to ask for comments. They can just do it. For example in one class, a few weeks before the season started they changed spec tires (after many had stocked up for the start of the season) and imposed a new spec fuel rule adding more than a grand for anyone running the full season. That same class, with 3 races to go, they changed the shock package rule with less than a weeks notice. This is a class where the cars are 10-15k to build. This class used to have 20-25 cars every week for 20 plus weeks. That's a lot of 3200 lb, 108" wheelbase sleds on a 3/8s oval. At the last race of the season there were 8 cars. Average for the season was about 10.

My point is don't be discouraged with what you have. There seems to be a system in place where they at least take your views into account. Right now I've got the resources to build and run a whole season in that circle track series and contend for the championship. It costs about a third of what you guys are paying to run but we have zero control of rules changes.

I've got enough resources I can either build an nice 99 SM and run a time or two, probably not enough to complete the novice program. Or enough to build an NA and run maybe half a season. For five or six years I've had my eye on running SM. I haven't decided what to do yet. Know that even though whatever rule you lobbied for did or didn't get passed, at least you have a say in the matter and the rules can't be changed at a whim. For the amount of money we spend on a hobby that in and of itself is a benefit.

Dave
