Only if you can get one through Mazda.
So, no.
But agreed they are cool, and the price isn't bad if they are quality.

How about for endurance races where Miatas are classed with other similarly small underpowered cars? I realize rulesets probably vary between sanctioning bodies and haven't dug in too deep yet. (I keep dabbling with the idea of building an enduro specific car.) [Smile]

paint it hide the rivets and it is tech shed legal [Smile]

on the Chaser Aerodynamics web site it is sold without the lexan so you could paint it and put in real glass and you would have to weight it to tell

Definately not for IT. They require OEM hardtops.

Sorry but no, STU/STL prohibits carbon hardtops.

It's totally legal. All you have to do is run it for a few years then request a rules change because everyone else is doing it and it's "impossible to police".

Shipping weight is 150#.... how much of that is crate?

I'd be willing to bet that the factory top is about the same weight as this poser piece.

I had one on a street car. The tops are fiberglass with a single sheet of carbon on top. Total weight with the glass was identical to a mazda oem top.

They do look awesome in person though...

Somehow I don't think DB was really being facetious.

Considering the the CRB's decision to "police" the ECU was to allow open fuel pressure & timing, how much policing is really possible?

[soapbox]
So if there's a company making hardtops and they are identical (size, weight, weatherstripping, glass) then what's the harm in allowing them?

With the prices of now used hardtops approaching the cost of a just a chassis shell, I'd say let's do what we can to get them made legal!

/ [soapbox]

Thanks,
Brandon
