I was wondering that as well. Maybe he had to dodge right as cars slowed for the double yellow?

Where's Philips video? I bet he has the most entertaining one...

Phillip ended up behind me (because of on track instances, not by my driving) We were headed down towards T10 and no one saw the dbl yellow basically until the turn so all had to clow WAY down all at once and Phillip made the right choice and went weed-whacking. I looked in the mirror to see him going higher and higher up the hill. Props to him though for not hitting me on 3 different occasions [duck]

Here's the view of the first lap (up through T9) from 34th on the grid...sorry for the bad positioning of the camera.

Juan,
I was sure I was going to hit or get hit a few times in all of that. Now I understand the saying "I'd rather be lucky than good", because getting through all of that without touching anyone was just pure luck.
Like others have said, the double yellow played a part in Phillip's agricultural adventure.

Here is my video from Sunday. Pretty boring except for that first lap dodging cars (boy your spinning car came close Juan ). If you watch the whole race, don't pick up any bad habits, because I can see I don't have any good ones.

Kevin

Kevin, looks like you got snookered at the restart worse than me. I saw the pace car lights going down the backstretch and figured we had one more lap of yellow.

David - nice save in 9.

Yeah, yeah, I know... Vimeo... I'll upload it there too soon. The FB video is in HD, and is set to "everyone" for permissions.

I'll edit down the #8 Sunday race tonight. Yup, three wide through T6-T8...

Cheers,

Here's my Sunday race highlights: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=450996129179

First lap features Brian, Darin and me three wide from T6 to T8. At least I can now say that I've led 5 turns of a Spec Miata race! [Wink]

I'll upload both to Vimeo in a day or two.

Cheers,

Doug

Ok, I've uploaded them to YouTube in HD.

Sure! No prob.

Yeah, I saw that happening. As you can see, I came through T14/T15 full blast. Didn't think I could go around Darin, so I figured the best thing would be to give you a bump.

Sorry about all the near misses Dan. I definitely had an eventful race. Was right behind the wreck in T1. Didnt see the double yellow in T10. And about 7 min into Doug's video you can see my new line in T3. I paid the price for all my weed whacking though. Radiator got blocked up and i spent most the race trying to keep it from overheating.

Hey Ken!

Great racing with you at Laguna! I think your motor is plenty fast (and your driving too) judging by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63l4wcqqDOA It would have been good to mix it up with you at Thill!

And, yes, it's my cheater SSM motor that was impounded and taken straight to be redyno'ed earlier in the season after I set the Thill Qual track record... What you may not be seeing in my videos is the nitrous shot switch that I am pressing with my left foot in each straight. [Wink]

I'm not sure yet! I'm looking at it on the trailer as I type this. I haven't even unloaded it yet. Preliminary inspection looks like control arms, ball joint, spindle, tie rod end, fender, front bumper cover and a wheel and tire. I hope the subframe is square [Frown]

Sorry to hear about all the damage on Sun's race. I wasn't feeling well and took off early.

Here is some rooftop HD Go Pro footage from Sat's Group 7 race. I had some great dicing up until I dumped it on T2 trying to overtake Dion. The other bummer is the camera decided to stop working before my spin... I still owe Laura a drink for avoiding me.

I just had a chance to look at the videos - the start was not pretty at all.

I thought someone was on my right which is why I moved over; I definitely wasn't making a move. Clearly there was no one there; it must have been race fog. I don't race that agressively to cause those types of situations - I race to have fun and enjoy the great comraderie that we have in our region.

It was my bad - I hope everyone has recovered.

My car is still in pieces - looks like I will be out for the next race or two.
