Alright, ladies. Don't keep all of us unfortunate folks who have to WORK today in suspense. Who won practice?

We need some updates! Where the heck is the SFR live timing for quali this afternoon?

Cheers,

In case you haven't heard...Brian wins after Darin spun in T6 on his own from the lead. Nick was second and Darin came back for 3rd and TommyO fourth.

Brian takes the championship!

Sounds like the way things were all year...back and fourth exciting. Congrats to Brian on your year and taking the title!

Darin...Rookie of the year in any division/area! Sounds like turn 6 was the wild card for both you and Brian this year as it cost you both at least 1 race. A very wise man said to me recently " But win or lose it doesn't really mean much, because racing is just a fun luxury hobby, and real life & people are a lot more important". Don't be to hard on yourself [banghead] [Wink]

Time for everyone to post up some viewing for the winter...don't be bashful gentlman [Razz]

Thanks to all who welcomed Kyle and I into the SFR and helped us along in our first season. It's going to be a long 6 months [Frown] [Big Grin]

Thanks Ron. Look for the Championship Choke video soon.

Congrats to Brian. You won the most races & deserve to be our champion. I'll be rooting for you to represent us well next year at the runoffs.

Thanks Darin - had you prevailed on Saturday I would have felt the same; you've been a worthy competitor all year long.

This has been a really fun season - it's great to race door to door with guys who can wheel and still leave each other space. The only damage to my car all year was scuffing up the vinyl on my mirror when Darin, Doug and I went three wide through T7 at Thunderhill.

Although I raced in 2005 and 2006, this is the first year I've completed an entire season start to finish. It's taken an incredible amount of work from a lot of people to put together a full program so let me give a shout out:

SafeRacer - for shipping me 5 alpinestars and sparco race suits and letting me pick the one that fit best. I usually average about a 50% error rate in my motorsports purchased but everything I've bought from them has showed up quickly and accurately and their customer service and pricing are as good as any you'll find.

Haag Performance - built my motor and we had good grunt all season long that kept us in the hunt. Lots of pole positions without a drafting partner thanks to Mike Haag. Unfortunately I noticed a disturbing trend of more cars using Haag motors as the season went on! [help]

Fast Signs of Natoma - run by fellow SMer Ed Koop, he did all of the vinyl for the car so I could take off the blue tape numbers and look like a race winner.

TFB Performance - Tim Barber is an ace driver and his mobile alignment rig and setup recommendations helped get that 2450# of piggyness around the track in a quick fashion. To those guys who scale their cars once a year and can't figure out why it handles like crap, Tim is your answer.

Finally, my crew chief and brother in law Thomas Barrett is just 22 years old but helped me build the car from a tub in my garage and owned the car all season long with zero mechanical issues. Sadly, the only issues I can point out were all driver-induced. [banghead]

I'm sadly going to miss the banquet due to a family trip but I hope everyone has a good time bench racing in my absence.

I'll also be representing us on the board for 2011 so you can always reach out to me with comments or complaints. [group hug]

Big congrats Brian, you drove an excellent season and showed us all how it's done. Great guy, great driver.

Congrats to Darin as well...you drove very well and were a very quick study on how to get the most out of your car. A few breaks could have gone a different way and you would have been the champ.

It was awesome driving with everyone this season and I hope everybody has a safe, happy off season.

All the best,

Tommy O

Thanks Johnny! Cool videos. I had a blast this weekend. Matt and I had a battle that belonged in a sprint race, but we got through it. We were 5th overall. Thanks to everyone involved!

Shoutout to Brian/Doug for the wins and championships.
Also shoutout to Darin, next year man. Next year.

Looking forward to next season!

Tommy - I hope one day to learn how you get out of your car, prepped and on your bike to say hi after every session before I'm even out of my suit. It's like magic! Been great racing with you, we'll connect once we're up in San Rafael.

Nice job on the enduro - 5th overall is awesome!

Congrats to Brian and Doug... great season and competition in both SMT and SSM. Below is a link to some pictures from the weekend. My wife had the camera so lots of #96, but she got some good ones of Brian, Darin, and Nick in group 7.

I ended up getting meat-balled for sound during the SSM race for 2 db over and cost me a lot of spots, but was able to at least finish the race after my "adjustment" - i.e. Tom crimping my exhaust in the pit lane with a vicegrip and short shifting up the hill... In group 5, I got pinned behind the blue RX7 from a poor quali session and just didn't have enough juice to make the passes stick.

Can't wait for next year!

Congrats to you to, Dan! That was the green car with the union jack on the top?

Who were the other drivers?

Funny, looking at the grid in that video and seeing all those big dollar cars was impresive. And way at the back there were a few Miata... [Smile]

Cool!

Thanks Ken!!

I started, half dry half wet session
My dad, Martin, swam the middle laps
Ed Railton ran the dry times in the wet.

Yes, the green with the jack (thanks for knowing what it was =])

It's awesome that Martin drove the wet portion & did well. I've been ribbing him all year for being British and skipping our rain race in the 1st weekend at TH. Now he's ended the season in the rain, and survived. Good on ya mate!
