Searched and Searched but couldn't find an answer to this one...

I originally had my SPST kill switch wired up according to the DaveW method, but got aggravated that my battery kept discharging between events, so I put in a DPST switch and wired it according to the provided instructions: Figure 1 as shown in this diagram.

Now, based on some of the things I have found in my searches, I'm worried that when the kill switch is used while the car is on (i.e., real emergency, or during annual tech), that I may potentially be damaging the Alternator or the ECU. Can someone tell me if this method of wiring is harmful to the alternator or ECU (or any electrical part), and what can be done to remedy the problem.
