Now that the National Championships are a few weeks away it will be interesting to see who shows up and will those that qualify for both NASA and SCCA go to both races. From the show NASA put on last year at Mid Ohio and the feed back that came out of Topeka. My quess is Mid Ohio will be up in numbers and Topeka down.

Mike, I had a great time last year at the nationals. But you can't really discern anything between the runoffs and the nationals numbers of entries since the qualification methods are totally different.
I think we can only compare the events to their own last year performance. National entries up - improving event. Runoffs entries - I guess we will wait and see on this one.

As of right now there are 39 registrants for the runoffs. I suspect several of them will not go as well. Nasa Nationals is at 59 entrants or so and I'm sure we'll lose a couple too.
I think it will be interesting to see what ends up happening. I hope that if numbers are down in only the second year for the runoffs, that Topeka will receive a message. So far it seems that HPT is no-one's favorite track.
In addition, concerning qualification for the Nationals, I think (hope)that NASA will be changing the method for participation next year. I don't think they expected anywhere near the amount of entries they got this year.
