I'm very late in getting this out, but I'm looking forward to seeing a good SM field this weekend at the Thunderhill clockwise event! I absolutely *love* the track in this direction.
We've got about 20 cars and some new names on the entry list. I believe we've got three Teen Challenge drivers, including one from the East coast.
There's also a 3 hour enduro Saturday evening - it's not too late to pair up and sign up!
Who's in??
Cheers,
Dean

I'm in.
Saturday qualifying with the Mustangs and Porsches will be interesting. I wonder if the T5 standard and bypass options will both be available during that session?

LOL! In this direction, the merge will be even hairier...
Good news - we've got 24 cars entered:
Barry Hartzel Ryan Ellis Dennis Clark Doug Clark Dean Hadley Don Bailey Randy Evans Andrew Forrest David Vodden Brady Flaherty Todd Wilson Daniel Gehringer Team Silverfern Helmuth Jones Bill Brown MD Bruce Pendleton Jeremy Pike AJ Patrick Team Momentary Laps Racing Team j&fracing Sean Allen Andrew Novich Keith Shamblin Nick Buchanan
I'm not sure what happened, but there are only 8 Spec E30's entered. Normally, the class counts are about equal between SM and SE30.
See you all this weekend.
Cheers,
Dean

You don't need to drive the "jump line". In fact, that's not the fastest line. It does make for a wonderful photo-op, though.
What can be hard on the car in this direction is the entry to T11 through the esses. Some drivers essentially straight line this, and it's bumpy and high speed. Again, I don't think this is necessarily the fastest line given how much it upsets the car on entry to what is essentially the longest "straight" on the track.

The before-the-deadline price was $450 for up to 2 drivers. There are 20 cars in the enduro, but 8 of them are E2 miatas, so it should be a good dogfight!
I'm sure you could find a driver willing to abstain from the beer at the BBQ long enough to refuel you at 5:30...
Do it!!!

I don't think that's right, Tom. I do see where it says that down below, but there's this specific note at the top:
IMPORTANT NOTE- All groups, including the enduro will run CLOCKWISE. All groups will use the bypass, except for the Molecule Formula Mazda Challenge series.
Let me confirm with Jerry.

Wow. Track Masters doesn't have such good organization. Both Nick and I used online registration to come to find out the night before that it never went through, and the event is full. Time to wing it I guess... Anyone have video?

Great weekend, folks. Congrats to the SM race winners, Randy Evans and Todd Wilson. Todd, you were about due to win!!! I heard the finish on Sunday was very exciting with Randy, Todd and Jeremy Pike all in the mix right up until the end, along with a couple Spec E30's they caught at Turns 3 and 2 who made things interesting...
With 25 cars and some very close racing, I'd say the group did very well from a cooperative coexistance standpoint. I know there was at least a little car to car contact - we had to send one guy home on Saturday after he had contact with two separate racers. But overall, I'd say GOOD JOB racing close without big bodywork bills. There are some very high speed passing zones in this direction, and I personally had only good experiences on track racing close with Tyler, Kiwi, Doug, Bruce and Barry.
Thanks again for supporting the NASA Spec Miata series.
Cheers,
Dean
