I've got a friend's in-car that is in HD and is a .mov file. I'm a PC person and usually use adobe premier to do all my video editing.

Is there any software I'd be able to download to just crop one lap out of this video to post? I don't want to (can't really) post the entire 785MB file.

Cheers,

Dean

Dean, I use MPEG Streamclip to do just that:

Runs on Mac and Windows.

Position the playhead to the start of where you want to clip out, press "i", move to the end, press "o". Edit ... Trim. File ... Export, done ;-)

I can always count on you, Zack. After installing, being disappointed with and then uninstalling several other free or trial programs, what you recommended worked perfectly.

Check the Infineon NASA thread for a great single lap video shortly...

Cheers!

Sony Vegas8 is great for HD editing.
Extensive HD rendering possibilities.
Must rename .mov files to .mp4 (Aiptek .mov format)

For what you are doing, get Sorenson Squeeze. It can trim things (not cut things from the middle, but trim from the front and back) and make some great encoded web video.

MPEG Slipstream really delivered for what I needed. It was super easy to acquire and run (NO install, just an exe in a zip file to drag onto the desktop) and it was really quite high performance. I tried another project (that wasn't free) for the MOV to AVI conversion, and it was horrible. MPEG Slipstream was really good quality.

I highly recommend it.
