Interesting... never had a problem when I used a set about a year ago I had them on the car for a few race weekends and they worked great. I had an issue with one tire not reading correctly and the manufactuer sent me a complete new set no charge. How would "your race be over" if one came off since they just screw into the schrader valve?
Out of curiousity I would be interested to hear you experience with these?

Not really an issue. You really only want to use them testing, as the batteries will run down if you leave them in all the time. They are great for debugging and answering the question of how much do your tire pressures change between track and when you finally measure them. Also how much do tire pressures change in different parts of the track.
I also have an optigrip tire pressure monitoring system and also the IR pyrometer system that I bought for development, but never used, and would be interested in selling. PM me if you are interested.
