OK...I bought it...it comes with Free GT Legends by the way.
It doesn't seem a whole lot different than GTR. I am running higher resolution since my PC is now capable and I have more of the real effects enabled...pretty cool seeing the windscreen get dirty lap by lap.
I've only done 30min w/ BMW M3-GTR at Spa...I got below 2:30 with whatever stock setup it comes with (pushy)...who's up for it? Where do we rent a server? What about tracks and other cars...what is available for GTR2? Is this thing RFactor based so we can do MX5 Cup upgrade?
Last year we had a blast driving the BMW M3 cup...kind of a spec series.
Costs around $27.00/month for a 12 slot GTR2 Server w/10 Slot Ventrilo Voice Server.
Probably no need to run it year 'round, just the winter months unless interest dictates otherwise.
The person assuming the rental service would receive the gold dollar sign indicator, moderator of the SMulators forum and any additional support needed by SpecMiata.com to promote it, EZ-DNS redirecting to the server (smulator.specmiata.com as an example) etc.
Added you as the forum moderator and updated your $. Figure out how the mechanism works for adding mods to the server.
Disclaimer: While we encourage players to donate to the server rental, please be aware that the donation is a private transaction between you and Antonio Garza and does not count as a donation to specmiata.com and will not qualify for a $ icon.

The Vette C5-R is awesome, no push
Stiffen the rear sway bar and increase front camber (just like a real car).
You can also try less entry speed and getting on the throttle earlier. Turn off traction control and ABS. It will be a lot looser under throttle and braking. The driving aids contribute to a lot of the push you are experiencing.

Oh yeah...driving aids OK to learn the track on your own...but if we do a race with a few people, no driving aids will be allowed. This is no arcade game...play with the MOTEC ADL data and you'll be amazed at what you learn.
You're welcome Alan.

This is a PC game Vinnie.
I give up on these server dudes, they're useless...no instructions, their sales pitch says "we'll walk you through it" but it's like talking to one of those trick canned response bots.
Anyone that KNOWS how to set this up wants to tackle it...PM me to give you the server/login info.
I cannot get the server to show up in the game browser even if it says it's running.
ARGHHH!!

We did some checking, when everything gets set up, the game should be present in the GTR2 lobby. If that's the case, we probably should set a password because there are scores of racers online all of the time.

Got it! You have to run dedicated server mode. It shows up then. I ran a dedicated server of "Big Als SMdotcom" then I started the game up normally and I see the Spec Miata server listed.

I just picked it up for $19.95 at Best Buy. But I won't have it until Christmas when somebody gives it to me as a present though...unless...maybe that tape is resealable...

So what was the problem exactly? Bad port?
DITTO on that track. I was in there for a while and went to another lobby where a person name DRAGO was in there. A few minutes later a chat note came up saying DRAGO was booted for possible cheating....I about fell out of my chair.

We need to get some US tracks like we did last year with GTR. I am tiring of Monza, Anderstorp, and Valencia. Those of you considering doing this may want to make sure you set your computer up for a clean boot. I have been having issues with FPS of 20-30. It makes the screem stutter and is very hard to drive. I will be upgrading the system in January!

Now that's funny, sounds like me, but I don't even know the first thing about these games yet, just getting started. Admittedly, very believable though!

I will be on tonight around 8:30 (wrloomis is my screen name). Any chance of changing the setting to simulation instead of novice? Are you guys running GT or NGT cars?

I race NGT cars in another league, actually one of the slowest cars, The Modena 360. Would love to get something even slower so it matched more with the Miata.
I will not be on tonight as I have another league race. I will there after though, and maybe throughout the day.

I made a new user account for windows (clean) so if I want to race now, I just restart the computer and use that user account. I'm getting 44-50 FPS now! Problem is, now I don't have an excuse!

OK something is screwy again. I got a notice that the 1.1 patch was ready...so I updated the server, then my game. I went ahead and changed the ini settings to simulation mode, got rid of some tracks, and made it into a spec Z3 game.
I'm back to the mode where I can't see the game on the GTR2 browser.
