When I turn the key on, the fuel pump constantly runs. I cannot find anywhere that the fuel pump circuit has been purposely jumped, either at the relay or the diagnostic port.

Is it advantageous to have the pump always run, and if so, where could the jumper causing this condition be located?

Or should I try to fix the problem perhaps by replacing the relay?

This could be a result of a "tuned" AFM. Many a moons ago, I had an AFM that caused the same issue. I believe the fuel pump is supposed to run only when the engine is running and/or when cranking to avoid some potential safety issues.

James, you are probably right. After some additional research it appears that there is a switch in the AFM that turns on the pump whenever the flapper is open.

Yep, good chance it is the AFM. I had to "fix" it to stop this behavior.

James, how did you "fix" it?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's got electrical problems.

That would be one fix... I can't remember if I had the tuner "adjust" it again, or just did the spring/aperture adjustment myself. It was a very tiny adjustment to get it to stop running the fuel pump when it wasn't supposed to.
