When installing a torsenin my 91 I snaped off one of the two studs that hold on the lower bracket below the housing mount. I know that I can just drill out and install a bolt in its place. However I would liket to also install the u brace. Can I get a newer subframe from a na nd install it?

I have searched and can't find it. I know I suck at searching but I have dial up so please help me out. The trust fund didn't come in.

Have a great day,
Jared

Jared;
By "newer subframe" do you mean the "u-brace" or the entire sub-frame?

One of the little 10mm studs that help locate the lower mount that's actually held in with the big 17mm bolt?

That's what you snapped off?

I've known cars that have been on the track for years without those little studs. I wouldn't worry too much, and I certainly wouldn't put in a new subframe just for those.

If you're talking about the two smaller studs that hold the bushing in place for the larger stud that goes through the "ear" of the diff cover (a matching set on left and right), then it is a non-issue. I broke mine off around 5 years ago and have not missed them.

If they the studs mentioned above are the ones you are talking about - I broke off all four when trying to remove the diff from my 90 the first time.

Had the same trouble with lots of the bolts on this car - seams the guy that put it together the first time didn't know what "Torque Value" meant - he just used an impact on everything and moved on...

Not a part that you need to worry about - Never had a problem without them...
