LEGAL CAR

If you go to buy a used racecar please take someone with you who knows the rules. There are a lot of great deals out there. I am not sure this is one of them.

Apparently I changed the rules to allow porting and polishing and 20 over pistons and such.

I don't REMEMBER doing such a thing but hey, I'm drunk alot so....

Jason... so instead of drunk posting or drunk calling you just do drunk rule making? I like this line: "Rag top removed (rule)".. as if the rules matter all of a sudden.

Based on a Google search of his phone number, it looks like his last name is Herbeck.

Interesting, did a little cross referencing and came up with this: (note not sure who he really is, any local TX guys recognize the car from the profile?)
Name: Dave Herbeck
e-mail: w_dave_herbeck@yahoo.com
SpecMiata.com login name: texxracer22
Profile: http://forum.specmiata.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?/profile/3856.html
Location: Alvin, Texas (close to MSR-H)
He does not post here very often, but apparently he has had clutch and starting issues in the past with the same car.
It is just amazing what you can find with search engines on the web!

It's even easier to email the guy from the craigslist ad and ask for photos like I did. I have seen the car at Nasa events a few times around here.

I'm also betting even with all that head work he probably has less HP than a East Street Racing fully tech shed legal 99. [duck] [Big Grin]

finally, someone got the real picture here ; dude needs to go .40 over with some wild cams to match horsepower with any of the top 10 at the Runoffs
[Wink]
would venture to say a third of the motors in regional cars across the land wouldn't pass RunOffs level Tech - let them all be ; it only matters when they get to the pointy end of the grid, when they take your $5. third place trophy

My post was deleted -- I must have run afoul of some moderator -- Let me try again (with some changes -- names removed to protect the guilty)

Some groupís tech sheds -- nobody checks
Other groupís tech sheds -- found to be legal on appeal

we all know which is which Ė better to have you car in one piece if nothing is going to be done

Gotta say, that's one of the weaker post deletions I've seen on this board in a long time. The Tard has an obvious axe to grind, but I think most everybody knows that by now and can evaluate his posts accordingly.

sorry I am too stupid to have good posts. Also I'm not allowed to play with axes or grinders because I'm slow. Just wish both groups would do a better job.

Based on my limited number of trips to tracks in the South, I wouldn't doubt that.... as for the folks I raced with in the Great Lakes, that estimate is probably WAY high. [flamed]
