I want to welcome and thank Rick Harris for moderating and helping with this forum.

Many 1.6 owners are thinking about FP racing so we thought a forum with the National Champ might help out.

Please welcome Rick to the SM.com volunteer staff!

[thumbsup]

Also isn't there EP Miata's? Could this forum encompass them too?

LOL Lance...pound away. [Smile]
Take a look at the link Jim posted above. There is some good info on the EP Miata and we can certainly discuss that here on the forum along with the all out purpose built GTL Miata.

Howdy all,

To get to know me and my history/bio a little more, you can go to http://haremotorsports.blogspot.com/ and get caught up on my racing history and what has brought me to this point.

If you haven't had a chance to view the FProduction race from this years Runoffs, go to http://speedcasttv.com/ The FP race is on the front page right now but if it's not click on view all races.

There were three dominant Miata's in the top 10. All three of those have come from or at least participated in Spec Miata's in their racing history.

I must say that racing Spec Miata catapulted my racing learning curve with the always stiff competition.

Brian Linn's car lived in my shop for a few months before Brian bought it.
I helped some in the construction of the car. Nice to see it at the front of the pack, even if it's not with Mark Stone driving.
(Stone was really slow in my car too!!!)

It would be cool of you to start a few threads focusing on the differences between the two cars. One thread for suspension, one for motor etc.

Steven,
I have been very happy with the car. The construction quality is great and it shows that you can buy a really good used FP car in the $20K range. I believe there was a FP Miata in the back of SportsCar magazine for $8k- but it would require work ($$) to make it Nationally competitve. I need to work on my driving to be able to keep up with Rick and the front running FP cars.

I raced H-Prod prior to running a Spec Miata for 3 years in So Pac. I still have the SM - but it looks like it needs to go to make room for the FP - as the FP storage location is no longer available to me.

I will give my 2 on the subject of making the change to FP - if I have useful input, or smart ass cynical retorts.

Yeah, it's a well built car. Mark's OTHER friend Dennis O'Neill gets all the credit for the car.
And, yes I always send the links to Stone so he knows I'm poking him on the interwebs...it's more fun that way!
