I doubt the field will get much larger until we are well out of this economic sink hole.

I had a lot of fun in my first MX-5 Cup race today! I started 10th...spun running with the leaders in 6th...fell back to 15th-20th place...and got back up to 9th on the last lap while running one of the fastest laps! I'm hoping to podium and have an AMG 1.2.3.! Mx-5 is the way to go!

After drops, looks like if Lamb takes the pole or just completes 1/2 the race regardless of starting position, the championship is his.
However, I'm going to guess he's going FTW!

What a time for live T&S to fail (lap notes). Wonder what happened on the start. Only way Lamb loses the championship is if he's taken out before completing 1/2 of the laps...

What a crazy race! Huge wreck on the first lap in turn 10. Congrats to Todd Lamb and AMG for their championship today. I had a great race and was running third passing for second place when one of the Alara cars got into my LR tire and spun me at the top of the roller coasters...got back up to 8th. Still a crazy race and a lot of fun! -Ryan Ellis #19 AMG
Mitch,we did not run the sunday race because the Diff burned up during the Sat race. I had a great run going, moving up to 8th after starting 11th on the first lap. However,on about lap 5,Ryan spun across the track right in front of me,I checked up hard to avoid contact and got slammed in the rear hard! It caused the Diff seal to start leaking, and leaked all the oil out by race end.The car lost 4 mph on top end and was running 220 degrees. In spite of all this , I had a great race with Mark Miller, we swapped positions many times for 6th and 7th. I feel lucky to finish the race, the Diff was locking up after the race and the car was covered with gear oil!Still mananged to get the Hard Charger Award! Looking forward to having teammates next year to draft with so we can qualify up front and get better results.

I would like to say congrats to Carbotech drivers Lyonel Kent and Justin Piscitell for finishing 1st and 2nd in Sunday's race. Along with Lyonel's third place finish in Saturday's race.
Congrats to Todd on winning the championship as well.
Carbotech would also like to thank the entire Alara Team for their continued support this season. Nice job this year and we look forward to working with you again next year!

What an amazing season - 7 poles and 8 wins in 9 races! Resetting the record books - I think some of those might last a while.
It was a real thrill to run in a SCCA Pro series backed by Playboy and Mazda. A professional program all around - if you haven't had a chance to step up to pro racing for at least a race, this is the best place to give it a try. The cars are a lot of fun to drive!
I have to thank AMG for their amazing car prep and for nailing the setup and strategy each weekend: Jason Hoover Tony Silva Mark Woodworth Maria, Jacob, Micah
Not a single mechanical issue, nor a single issue in tech even with a motor being confiscated after Barber (with a 3 day turnaround to Autobahn) and the car being confiscated and teched by SCCA/Mazda for 3 days after Road America. Really impressive and it proves that we did it with a 100% legal car!
I also want to thank Luna-C Clothing, Traqmate, and Cobalt Friction for their support throughout the season. You guys are the best!
Thanks as well to SCCA Pro and everyone at Mazda for coordinating to make this spec series successful. I know a lot of hard work goes into it behind the scenes. Thanks to Derek P, EFR, and Rick B for the great coverage, and BFG for taking care of the tires.
I am not sure as of yet what is in store for me in 2010 - Mazda will be making announcements as the plans unfold for next season. There may be some surprises, stay tuned!
Whatever the plans are, it is truly an honor to be representing Mazda as a driver next year.
Wow... you could tell it was the last race of the season. Congrats man, if you HADN'T been the champion after the year you had it would have been pure... Lune-C.
