What a great race to watch, 5-6 car battle nose to tail the entire race. Lots of lead swaps between Rampleberg and Copeland. I thought Dean played it almost perfect, taking the lead on the last lap but a little bobble coming onto the straight allowed Brad to draft pass at the finish for the closest finish of MX-5 Cup ever.
A few things to watch, Dean should be up front all season long to battle Brad and the rest of the flock. Atlanta should be intersting being Pombo's home track.
The coolest thing was the cars seemed to all have the same power, a REAL SPEC SERIES, unlike Spec Miata
Dean's performance also proved that a privateer team can run with the multi-car pro teams which I think is very important for the long term life of the series.

Brian - what really helps keep them together is the MASSIVE parachute they drag behind with the open top - just cannot get away - draft is absolutely incredible.
At VIR test day I ran 3 mph faster in the draft of an MX-5 than I was ever able to in draft of the best SM cars.
So the guys can get out front but it is tough to gap anyone. Really keeps the racing close.
