Hello all,

I apologize that this is not a Miata related question.

My friends Dad is living the dream. He built a Factor Five Cobra over the last few years out in California and is now towing it all over the country visiting family/friends and more importantly visiting all the tracks he has dreamed about doing laps on.

Everything has gone pretty much as planned but he has come up dry with the Glen in September. It looks like he could run it in October but by then he is on his way to VIR and parts south.

Just to clarify hes not trying to race or dial in the car he simply wants to just do a few laps for fun.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Rick Canavor

Rick -

The Glen is the easiest track in the East to get track time on. Most club events have openings.

Here's the Schedule for September.

Or you can go to this link and click the "Track Rent Schedule" link. Great track for an FF Cobra.

Looks like Tracquest & COM would be easiest. COM requires a check out session and runs time trials so make sure what you are signing up for. BMWCCA and PCA clubs might work as well.

Tell him to have fun and watch out for the blue bushes.

The SCCA "fun One" is 9/18&19. if all he wants to do is drive the track at lunch time they will let anyone go around behind a pace car. I think they get about five laps. I think the fee is $25. He could do that both days and watch some great races too. Just let us know and someone can put him on their crew list.

Thank you for these helpful responses.

He just signed up for the COM event on the 14th and 15th.

Thanks again for helping him live the dream,
Rick Canavor
