Not sure all of them are women. I've seem some dudes do some boneheaded stuff. And regarding this topic being posted on a site dedicated to racing, let me state that someone's sex does not determine what kind of a driver they are on the track. You all may have a different perspective having possibly raced with a few, yet from a pure "performance driving" perspective, I think female drivers can be some of the more smooth drivers.

A prime example was when I attended the Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School several years ago, and one of the instructors shared a story about a female producer from LA coming to the school. It was her first time at the school and she was only 1-2 seconds off the track record! An instructor rode with her to find out what she was doing. Turns out she was just v-e-r-y smooth.

Women racers also have the disadvantage of competing in a male dominated sport.

So until I actually race with a woman on the track, I need to refuse comment. I will say however, that I believe that our sport requires a certain grace. A certain grace is required to nail the three phases of a corner. And women are naturally born with more grace than men.

OK, I'll claim that they are all men drivers, and it is still funny. Truth is, I did not fly all over the world in an attempt to verify all of the drivers sexes before I posted it. It's posted in backfire because it is supposed to be taken light hearted. I think you may have taken it a bit to serious. Either way, male or female, the drivers are obviously not trained professional race car drivers such as yourself and the female race car drivers that you refer to. I happen to know a female multi time circle track champion. She is the one that sent me the video, because she thought it was funny. Ease up a bit and enjoy a chuckle.

No sweat

Ok, now some of those just hurt to watch. Like the chick that rolled the car pulling through those gates. And the chick that hit the barriers coming out of the ground. I think the funniest is the third one, the chick in the samll green car trying to park. Eventually the guy waiting for her parks the car for her.

Here's a classic,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8Ox4isDmFo

And this is cool. They hire these guys for car commercials,

I just HAD to reply to this post. THANKS E-Speed for coming to our gender's quick defense!! I've seen alot of guys - racers and non-racers - do some f'ed up stuff in a car.

As a female racer, I have never felt at a disadvantage. I love this sport partly because, unlike most, men and women can compete directly against one another. The car does not know or care that I am a female.

Further, I have never been made to feel inferior by any of my male competitors because of my sex --- maybe because of my driving [laughing] --- but never because I am female. In fact, quite the opposite --- men dig it.

Thanks KingRat. Yes, I give women in the paddock respect. You are right. And I must admit, I haven't raced yet, still HPDE'ing.

Great, I just thought some racers here may have been a bit sexist.

And I'll also share this video. The "driving videos" got me to thinking. This is a cult classic filmed in the streets of Paris in 1978, "C'était un RENDEZVOUS", filmed by Claude Lelouche,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mZ5S8OwjJI

Enjoy!

Two things about the bus crash.

That could have been so much worse if she didn't manage to skip the bus across the top of the cars.

The passenger's plea of, "Please let me out" was priceless.

Rendezvous is fantastic. Especially if you've visited Paris and witnessed the chaos that is the traffic around the Arc d' Triomphe (sp), or walked up the hill to the Sacre 'Coeur (again, sp). The best part about that film was the driver had to make it from point a to point b in a certain amount of time before the film in the camera ran out.

You know, I had a nice looking female crew person wear one of my old driving suits at the 13 hr race. I have never seen my suit look that good before. So, is that the same thing?

I love the one where the driver trying to follow the bus through the pop up posts gets impaled. If you look closely, the windshield wipers immediately go on full. You know hands are madly flailing in the car trying to remedy the situation.

It's like watching novice auto-xers going through a tight turn when they hit the horn, turn on the wipers, turn on the headlights...cracks me up every time.

Bloody funny. For the record one of the best drivers I have raced with is a woman. She is super fun to race with but can lean on you with the best of them...

I posted this video because I thought it was funny. I thought that others might also find it entertaining. For the record, I never said that women can't race. In fact, I even admitted that I know a multi year woman champion, that thought that this was funny enough to send it to me. She DOMINATED a local circle track series. I think some people have gotten the wrong idea about a funny U-tube that I did not title. May-be someone can offer a bad driving men video to counter? To all of the people that have taken this the wrong way, I offer my apology. It was only meant to be entertaining.

When I started racing SM's six years ago, Angie South (Tim's sister) was a tough competitor. My wife (not knowing how good Angie was) would berate me for not beating a "girl". While I miss Angie on the track, I don't miss the spousal abuse.

I just now had a chance to watch this video. You all need to get your paties out of a knot. If you have any thing wrong with it then you need to look inward. tYou can call me what you will, but that $h!t was great. Make me glad I for the most part know how to drive, as well as makes me wory how some have gotten their license.

Have a great day,

This video of a drifter is quite funny as well. Not a woman driver so kinda off topic for this thread but bad driving non the less.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aULrqvK2y4c

There is also another one out there of another drifter in a BMW doing the same thing but I can't find it right now.
