Many of you have already figured it out, but registration is now open for the 2010 ARRC by GRM at Road Atlanta the weekend of Nov 4-7.

Supps, schedule, and links to registration can be found at: http://www.atlantascca.org/arrc.html

Although we've opened the event to Runoffs classes this year, remember that if you ran SM at the Runoffs you cannot run SM for the ARRC Championship races (Saturday). You can still run SM in the Pro-IT on Friday and ECR on Sunday.

At the request of the competitors, SM will be required to use the track-supplied Sunoco 98-octane unleaded. We're still working out the enforcement procedures, but if you expect to finish on the podium you need to make plans to run the track fuel and only the track fuel.

The ARRC weekend will also mark the debut of the SMX and SM5 classes. Rules for both can be found on the website, but SMX is for '99+ cars with no restrictor plate while SM5 is for 2006-2011 MX-5s.

I'll try to check this forum daily, so let me know if you have any questions.

See y'all at the track...

Atlanta Region regional-only class. Same rules as SM (including the spec tire) but for '97 & earlier.

I'd rather not start the whole "splitting the class" discussion again, but it's for the owners of earlier cars that don't want to spend the time & money necessary to compete with the '99+ cars. That said, there's obviously nothing to keep the guys that DO want to spend the time & money from signing up for SM2.

If I ran the runoffs can I borrow a '91 car and run SM2?

I just want to remind everyone that the ARRC Enduro on Sunday will be a SEDiv ECR series race. This will be a good chance to score some ECR points and get a lot more Road Atlanta track time. And since it is a 3 hour race, you can co drive with one or two drivers to help cut expenses.

We are looking at ways to rebuild ECR for 2011 and Atlanta Region has started the process. Right, the 2010 ARRC race is a 2011 ECR points race. The 2011 season will end at the SIC again with a Double points race Saturday afternoon. So, you can score some early points at the ARRC.

For any of you who might want to help bring ECR back to its 1990's status as a 100 plus car series, the big thing we need is to get more regions to sanction ECR races in 2011. So if your region is not sanctioning ECR races, contact your RE and ask that ECR races be added for 2011.

Just a reminder that while the online registration system closes at noon EDT on Monday, Nov. 1, if you register before noon on Tuesday, Oct 26, your information (including any sponsor's names) will be included in the event's Spectator Guide. And unlike many SCCA events, the ARRC has attracted a number of devoted spectators over the years.

Atlanta Region does not deposit funds until after the event and full refunds are issued for no-shows, so if you're even thinking about entering the event you should do so. Besides giving us more time to get things coordinated, your entering early also reduces the time you need to spend at the registration window.

BTW - for those not able to attend we'll also have links to live T&S from the Atlanta Region website, plus we're working on getting the PA feed attached to that as well.

See y'all at the track...

Those of you that can't be there can still follow the action on the interweb. Links to live Timing & Scoring (plus additional information about the weekend) can be found at:
