PS - in an effort to control cost we went with a dynamite lunch menu but dessert was not in the budget so Wendy has sent an email out to her group of wives from MEATHEAD Racing so please pass this along to yours if they did not get it, we would like some folks to bring two dozen HOME MADE deluxe cookies that we will put out with the lunch. the caterer is working with us on this and thinks its is a great idea.

Email me if you (or your better half) can help out.

Easy dessert food would be great. Cookies, cup cakes, things that come in single servings that do not need the caterer to cut up.

As good as my cooking is is how distasteful my baking is. I'll bring a couple dozen single-servings from Baltimore Piedigrotta Bakery.

Due to the parity in the SSM class anyone of the top ten listed below has a shot to win.

1)Scott Brunk (Mr. Brunk does not drive junk!)
2) Rich Rhomin ("The Rhominator" finishes 2nd to complete the 61 98 exacta)
3)Jon Pressman (has been pretty racy lately..)
4)ED York (Ed has been the man to beat and could win this)
5)Meathead (this should be interesting) [yep]
6)Chris Windsor (the x champ is always tough)
7)Scott Zetterstorm (Scott could have the fastest lap time of the race)
8)Matt Jackson (his car has been on rails!)
9)Jim Thill ("Thriller" never count him out)
10)Neil Orouke (The Irishman can wheel a race car)
11) John Gerbacht ( John is fast and furious)
12)Mark Thill ( I think he is sandbagging and letting Dad beat him..LOL)
13)Greg Obadia (can move up)
14)Glen Davis (His RP ride is fast!)
15) William Windsor ("The Hammer")

Darth -
Reasonable list in terms of identifying the top 15, but it needs a couple major changes in order: Stormin' Scott Zett will finish on the podium at least 2 days out of the 3; Bill "Never Yield" Windsor will finish in the top 12 two days out of 3. Chris "The Younger" Windsor has rediscovered his magic formula and has a surprise (or two) in store. [yep]

As for yours truly, I plan to finish (period) 2 days out of the 3. [Wink]

Wouldn't surprise me, as SSM is now more closely contested than SM. SSM championship and egos are on the line.

I HOPE that the picture that Travis posted isn't Rich and Matt tangled up???

I don't know what else could possibly be going on in that picture if it isn't in fact Matt and Rich tangled up.

I have video of the Sunday start, but it basically shows that it was jumped. The car was black flagged yesterday and put at the back of the pack today.

All I saw of the wreck on the front straight today was a cloud of dust and some very vigorous yellow flags. After the race I heard that it was some 3-wide racing that went wrong.

I hope that Rich and others came out alright.

All I know for sure is I was on the left side of the track when I was hit and the steering wheel went to the right. I closed my eyes just before hitting the tires open them once in the air and closed them again. I had the wind knock out of me pretty good.

Kim counted two complete spins one of them was about 3 feet in the air.

No one has posted what might be the most interesting news of the entire weekend for SSM?
Sunday's race:
Announcements
17:31 New Track Record (1:28.700) for SSM by Payton Wilson.
Monday's race:
Announcements
15:29 New Track Record (1:28.563) for SSM by Scott Zetterstrom.

Woo-hoo! Congrats Payton and Scott!
[yep] [cheerful] [rockband]

Wish I had seen it! My predictions were most off the mark where I expected it the least: I didn't even finish 1 day out of 3 (blown motor). Well, that's racing.

Sometimes I forget how big the check is at the end of the race. [twocents]

Car 75 :censored:head jumped the start 4 off course passed rows of cars before the green was thrown then tried to muscle [Smash] his way back on track in front of the field. WTF The same style of driving that has caused many wrecks on the start from this same driver.

We do NOT need this kind of racing in OUR SSM class or any other class. This driver has been a repeat offender and we (collectively) need to put an end to it!

If someone wants to come play in our sandbox you are welcome we request you come sealed and play FAIR.

Yes, I did put paper on it I think the penalty was weak (maybe there needs to be a wreck for a more severe penalty) but it is a paper trail that will follow this driver for some time. I hope with the pressure of his peers and other drivers he will correct this dangerous behavior or go play elsewhere.

I do apologize for my choice vocabulary once I got out of the car, but not the emotion.

I also want to thank all the workers- especially the Flaggers [soapbox] this weekend for all you do and from time to time have put up with...keep up the good work [group hug]

It was an eventful weekend, that's for sure!

The incident between Rich, Neil and myself was very very scary. I was the meat in the middle of the sandwich, not a fun place to be! Like Rich, I closed my eyes and hoped for best. We are very lucky to have made it through unscathed.

Congrats to Scott (and Payton) on their new track records!

What a great weekend. We had 6 cars under the track record in qualifying on Saturday! [thumbsup] And Jonathan gave me some great help to get me on the pole for both Sunday and Monday's races.

Congratulations to Scott Brunk for wrapping up the championship and thanks to everyone for the cudos on the record. I couldn't have done it without the help of Chris and Bill at Windsor customs.

I'd especially like to thank the EV workers at Summit Pt. I don't know if any of them read this site but they really put it out there when they pulled three cars out of the trap in 10 [Eek!] and allowed us to run the full 20 laps and finish under green. Thanks guys/gals. [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

Yes, kudos to those guys. I can't say enopugh good about the work they did. Between the two hot tows at T10 where brave men fear to tread (though it was funny to come through at one point and see the red pick up backing into the "safety" of the inside of the corner and something approaching the speed of plaid) and the guys who pulled Charlie Williams out a precarious spot at T3 those guys earned (even more) respect from me than usual.

Scott, some of us do [Smile] and our pleasure.

Wreckerboy:First, you're welcome, second, we didn't have any red trucks on duty this weekend. Perhaps that plaid got in your eyes [Wink]

To everyone else, thanks for coming out. The workers would look pretty silly out there with no cars on track to watch. We have the best seat in the house.

And yes, hot pulls at 10 with Miata's on course has a tendency to cause one to make diamonds between your keester flaps. (major pucker factor).

Is Charlie's car red?

on edit: your jello was well received BTW, thanks

Yah, it came out ok for being a dodge ball for a minute. The trunk got pushed over a little but not bad. But I spun my own self and after that came in. I'd been fighting a head cold all week and nothing on track had felt right, so I decided nothing positive was going to happen from there.

8)Matt Jackson (his car has been on rails!)
9)Jim Thill ("Thriller" never count him out)
10)Neil Orouke (The Irishman can wheel a race car)
11) John Gerbacht ( John is fast and furious)
12)Mark Thill ( I think he is sandbagging and letting Dad beat him..LOL)
13)Greg Obadia (can move up)
14)Glen Davis (His RP ride is fast!)
15) William Windsor ("The Hammer")

Louis, I told you I was gonna break up your top 15. I got 14th HA! Even if it came from Matt and Rich's peril, sorry guys glad your alright, I'll take it.

Also a BIG thanks to Matt Jackson for helping me swap my diff, wouldn't have made it Sunday without your help!

Thanks to Brian Billey for the transmission (that I swapped by myself between qual & afternoon race) and the diff (that Matt helped with). You saved my weekend!

Wish I had seen it! My predictions were most off the mark where I expected it the least: I didn't even finish 1 day out of 3 (blown motor). Well, that's racing.

lol......I predicted that Scott wold have the fastest time of the race. [Wink]

Here are a couple of vids. This is the first time I used the new equipment; apologize for the sound quality.

First is the start of the Sunday Qual Race:

Sunday Start

Second is an OMG for me. After a dismal 2-3 shift in T2, I got passed by a couple of cars. The T4 sequence cause the eed for 4 tires and a couple of pair of underwear...

Oh S**t!

Can't believe the season is almost over. Ready to start again!

Congrats Scott on a great race and the track record. Watching you charge back was almost as much fun as racing myself.

Special thanks to Chris Windsor @ Windsor customs for the parts to rebuild my front end after the wreck on Sunday afternoon. And....keeping my motorhome from catching on fire!

Gene Clev., I am getting tired of looking in my mirror and seeing the 24 charging up on my. We have had some great races and great fun this season. It is a pleasure racing with you.

Bartered a Koyo radiator with Bret and sold a couple of plumbing flanges (ballast)...I still have many spare parts.
