Hey, I even put him in my top 10 for the last Topeka race. [thumbsup]

I tried to find him out in Topeka when I was there just never could catch him.

Don't tell me I offended you Paul. [Confused]

Not offended at all, my friend. But I see no reason to add insult to injury. I've met Steve many times, and I recently saw him while with his family. He's good people. Trust me. This racing thing can get emotional - I understand, but give the guy a break. The protest aftermath was an entertaining debacle for many, and you Jason delivered some big laughs, but its over. That's all I'm saying.

Well I wasn't trying to insult, just trying to have a laugh with my potential new friend Steve. Rumor has it he has a sense of humor. I don't have any problems with him and look forward to meeting him in a month.

Wow, 26s. To do that in a SM miata you would probably have to take turn 3 full throttle (maybe a slight lift off the throtle to get it to turn) and 10 with maybe a slight lift, no brakes. You would have to nail 6a and on power early. To make that happen you need excellent track conditions and a cool day, but you would probably have to go over the apex curbing to give you more track on exit. Both curbs upset the car though. I'll try it next race, I usually go off on 3 at least once a weekend anyway! [Smile]

26's........yeah....what he said!!! [Wink]

In order to achieve this, it'll take an open tire rule to clip a 26...even then that would be tough...won't happen on Toyos....

27's.....I do believe are possible with Toyo's....but it'll take that perfect horsepower day that we maybe only see but once every several years

plus with each passing season the track is not getting any faster....

Snuggs ran a bonified 27.7 in my old mans car on a private track day. We got it on two watches and video. If you time the video you get 27.7 as back up evidence. This was on Toyo tires.

Yes, I do remember hearing about this....I know it is even repeatable, but it will take those perfect conditons to get that kind of time again...and those perfect conditions are few and far between.... [thumbsup]

I agree.

I must ask... Is the old mans car better than that Spec Godzilla machine you drive? If not, and I suspect not, does that make Snuggs the best we've got? I've heard rumors to that effect late in the evening after many libations, and this from guys who are used to beating him. I won't name names.

With restrictor plate and at weight. On toyo tires with no draft. That was the only day Chris ever drove that car.

It did once, remember when Kenny drove it for the SPEC series.

I agree with Al on switching cars. Mike you know the dyno numbers, wouldn't you want the Barf Blumpkin power for MARRS 9. Kenny ran a low 28 or a high 27 in the Barf Blumpkin on Toyo's if I remember right.

My 1.8 is getting ready for paint and Topeka. It will not be at the MARRS race. Junior is not running the last race so I am driving his car. Don't worry about Dyno numbers the '99 has the barf blumkin covered easy.

Yes. Juniors car IS better than mine. I built both of them last year with virtually unlimited budgets. I built the '95 first and had my custom seat installed. We built the '99 in 4 weeks once they announced it was class eligible, my seat was already in the other car and the '99 was unproven except by Payton in the pro series which is hard to compare anything to. We spent a year on development in that car and next year it will be the car to have, but the concenus was that Topeka is a 1.8 track so I stuck with that for this year. Wait until you all see what I am going to race next year. [Wink]

If you count the SPEC Race, you are right Kenny had a 28.771 and I had a 28.725 in that qualifying race when Kenny was driving the Blarf Blumkin.

Chris was on Hoosiers at the SPEC race. Kenny was on Toyo's.

Alan... I had to go that fast to try and save myself $5!

I could see dollars ringing up on my rearview mirror each lap as you moved up from the back of the pack;-) Congrats to you on a strong race.

Blast from the past for all the MARRS boys... "26 second club" 4 years later. Mostly track conditions or development?

Now all we have to do is bring back Jon Hummer.

Happy Friday.

ROTFL it is a blast from the past cut off sleeves Vinnie didn't disappoint he was in full attire for the double this year. I am planning a "team washed up race car drivers with kids" for 25 hr at thunder hill or the NJ 12 hr in the near future so look out young bucks.
